Vita Sports Partners Information

We believe that participation in sports offers a life-altering pathway for social change. We also believe there is a better model for sports-based philanthropy. The convergence of these beliefs is Vita Sports Partners. Vita Sports Partners works with proven, high-performing Sports-Based Youth Development (SBYD) organizations and their leaders to build the capacity they need to deliver on their own missions. Sports Based Youth Development (SBYD) is a rapidly growing and increasingly validated model of youth development that uses the delivery of sport intentionally and primarily to achieve non-sports-based outcomes, such as increased social emotional learning, improved pro-social relationships, better academic performance and educational attainment, and improved health and wellness. We exist to change the way investments are made in sports-based youth development with three central initiatives: 1) Managing the "Vita SBYD Hub"​ - a 90-seat collaborative office space in Manhattan for Sports-Based Youth Development organizations and other selected non-profit organizations who have complementary missions and services; 2) Optimizing the venture philanthropy model by convening passionate donors, foundations and corporations who care about sports, to enable us to deliver game-changing funding and leader development support to proven SBYDOs. 3) Delivering sector-wide professional development training and resources to SBYD organizations as a road map for them to realize their true, long-term, potential. We call our approach High Performance Philanthropy (HPP) because both SBYDO’s and donors get more of what they want and need, which is what fuels the ultimate driver for both – deeper, more meaningful, more sustainable, life-changing impact for the people served by the SBYD organizations.
