Based in Terre Haute, Indiana, Vigo Engineering has a strong history in appreciating all aspects of material handling, and a particular expertise in cranes, hoists, railcar & locomotive transfer tables, transfer cars, turntables, locomotive sanding systems and railcar movers. As a Rose-Hulman Institute engineering graduate representing three generations of engineers, Vigo Engineering offers over 30 years of engineering experience in the design, fabrication, implementation and installations of all kinds of heavy material handling equipment. With 20+ years as Chief Engineer at Hydro-Power, Inc in Terre Haute, a hands-on approach is still the way Vigo Engineering solves engineering and design problems, with emphasis on saving & preserving the older equipment out there rather than replacing. Repair work of existing equipment is a mainstay of Vigo Engineering's day-to-day efforts. With registered professional engineer licenses in 7 states, travel to any of the 50 states is the norm, including the Caribbean and Canada. Besides engineering, I enjoy 1950's and early 60's doo wop music; track & field and cross country; bridges and structures built as trusses or latticed steel, and Quaker thoughts on life.
