The Varkey Foundation, is a UK-based family education charity. We put teachers at the heart of everything we do; we build the capacity of educators and raise the status of the profession, believing that quality teaching is the route to improving outcomes for underprivileged children. Our portfolio includes: *The annual Global Teacher Prize. An annual US $1 million award presented to an exceptional teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to their profession. *Global Education forums which engage policy-makers, educators and business leaders that effect global change for teachers. *Grant Giving to organisations that support our mission. *Working with governments and donors to build the capacity of thousands of educators in Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.
