The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) is the largest and most dynamic department within the School of Engineering at the University of Thessaly. Since its establishment in 2000 as the Department of Computer, Telecommunications, and Network Engineering, and its subsequent evolution in 2013, the Department has maintained a steadily upward trajectory of academic excellence. Each year, the Department welcomes over 250 new students across all levels and researchers at doctoral or postdoctoral stages, fostering a vibrant ecosystem of innovation in the fields of Computer Science, Circuits, Telecommunications, and Energy. The quality of our undergraduate and postgraduate programs is officially accredited, ensuring that the knowledge provided is fully aligned with international academic and professional standards. The Department’s research activity is internationally recognized and organized around five central axes that cover the full spectrum of modern technological frontiers: Computer Science Foundations and Applications Software Technologies and Information Systems Computer Hardware and Architecture Signals, Telecommunications, and Networks Energy This work is supported by modern infrastructure and officially established research laboratories of high standards, as well as dynamic student research groups that have achieved significant international distinctions. Our faculty members possess extensive experience from leading institutions in Greece and abroad.
