The Urban Studies Student Union, (URSSU), is an organization at the University of Toronto that provides an opportunity for students within the Urban Studies program to come together to further their academic, professional, and personal goals. With the continued support and interaction of the faculty department, we plan on enhancing the opportunities offered by the program. Our Union also endeavors to provide a voice for students in the program, and ensure this voice is heard by the University faculty, staff and governing bodies. Ongoing events will be scheduled throughout the 2005/6 school year. We encourage student participation at the various events that should prove to be informative, enlightening, and fun! The lecture series is open to the public; check the events section, and sign up for e-mail notification. One of the strengths of our program is the flexibility offered by its interdisciplinary approach. However, we realize that this multitude of options can be overwhelming, especially for new students. So we are here to share experiences, and to provide guidance for new and prospective Urban Studies students. We encourage everyone to come and talk to us, and get to know us so that we can work together in our passion for the city!
