Working to ensure Americans have access to fair, affordable housing, and opportunities to achieve self-sufficiency, thereby strengthening our nation. In 1978, PD&R established the HUD User Clearinghouse, an information source for housing and community development researchers, academics, policymakers, and the American public. The HUD User website was launched late in 1996 and has been in continuous operation ever since. The website is home to a vast array of housing research, data, and policy analysis published by HUD’s Office of Policy Development and Research (PD&R). In addition to free downloads of over 1,000 research publications and data sets, we also offer free eBooks and periodical subscriptions, as well as a series of concise online Case Studies that describe how HUD stakeholders and partners are building stronger, more economically and socially diverse communities throughout America.
