UPES SPE Student Chapter Information

UPES SPE Student Chapter was established in 2009 with a vision of enabling students to become early contributors to the oil and gas E&P industry by actively participating in the exchange of technical knowledge regarding the same, and to enhance their technical and professional competence at the same time. Today, the Chapter is a benchmark for excellence in all undertakings, be it planning & operations, social responsibility, industrial involvement or professionalism. The Chapter has achieved the rare distinction of being awarded the ’Gold Standard Award’ by SPE International for three consecutive years (2011, 2012 and 2013) followed by the most prestigious honour of receiving the ‘Outstanding Student Chapter Award’ for the following four consecutive years (2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017). Moreover, the Chapter members have proven their merit in all fields by receiving numerous scholarships and having their research papers published in prominent technical magazines all over the world. They have also attended various international conferences and competitions on behalf of the University as well as the Chapter, such as the SPE/IADC Middle East Drilling Technology Conference and Exhibition, International Petroleum Technology Conference, Indian Oil Gas Renewable Energy Summit, Indian Drilling and Exploration Conference (IDEC), the Global Refining and Petrochemical Congress, the Young Professionals’ Conference and several other distinguished lecture programs. The Chapter continues to grow by leaps and bounds and achieve new standards of brilliance every day, moving towards better and greater goals, firmly inculcating in all its associates, the spirit of “Miles to go before I sleep”.
