What started out as an experiment in hydroponic gardening with herbs and peppers soon became a passion to pursue cultivating an organic pepper container garden. We have recently blossomed to eight raised organic beds complete with 21 different pepper varieties among other traditional vegetables. Our current pepper crop includes: Jalapeño: 2500 – 8000 SHU Cayenne: 30,000 – 50,000 SHU Lemon Drop: 15,000-30,000 SHU Habanero: 100,000 – 350,000 SHU Thai: 50,000-100,000 SHU Sugar Rush Peach: ~75,000 SHU 7-Pot Douglah: 950,000 SHU Trinidad Scorpion: 1,200,000 SHU Ghost (Bhut Jolokia): 1,001,304 SHU Carolina Reaper: 2,200,000 SHU Hot Banana: 5,000 – 10,000 SHU Gochujang: 1,000 SHU Anaheim: 500-1000 SHU Poblano: 1000 – 1500 SHU Shishito: 100-1000 SHU Mad Hatter: 500-1000 SHU Salsa: 25-250 SHU Lesya: 0 SHU Bell: 0 SHU At the end of our first season we had an over abundance of peppers, especially the obscenely fiery chiles that we didn’t know quite how to put to use. A little of those peppers goes a LONG way. So we put on our creative hats and began devising a plan to use these chilis in unique ways. This is how Untamed Spice was born! We invented recipes that matched the spiciness of the pepper with the sweet of confections. While most people attempt to create potions that will light you on fire and give you bragging rights to your friends, we choose to focus on the flavor of the peppers and marrying those unique tastes with other ingredients to give you, the customer, an enjoyable epicurean experience. We use only fresh, organic, home or locally grown produce and hand make all our products. We hope you enjoy savoring our goodies as much as we enjoy making them.
