United Tool & Engineering Information

United Tool & Engineering is a tool and die company which started specializing in the building of progressive stamping dies in 1956. In 1968, in need of more room, an 8,000 sq. ft. facility was built at 4095 Prairie Hill Road. At this time United adopted a philosophy that "Technology Fuels Growth". With that in mind, United bought its first wire EDM machine. Furthering this philosophy, the purchase of a new CNC mill was made, as well as a 10,000 sq. ft. addition to start in the stamping industry. United Laser was started in 1999 to add yet another service to United Tool's growing customer base. Southern Wisconsin Metal Finishing was acquired in 2003 in response to the need to offer finished parts. January of 2005 marked the addition of Challenger Fabricators to the United Tool family. In October 2005, the company started building a 65,000 square-foot building next to its 10,000 square foot facility there. Because of increased orders, United Tool & Engineering started connecting the 65,000 square-foot building and the 10,000 square-foot facility in September. Joining them together will increase efficiency and give the business more space. The 20,000 square-foot addition will result in a new building with 95,000 square-feet of total space in addition to the headquarters located at 4095 Prairie Hill Road housing Southern, Laser and Challenger. In fifty years, United Tool & Engineering has grown from a small tool and die shop to a family of four businesses encompassing over 150,000 sq. ft. and employing 100 people. It is the philosophies fostered by United's leaders, the skill and hard work of its employees, and the common effort to ensure its customers' satisfaction that keeps it thriving.
