Uirtus (meaning Excellence in Latin) is a network of lean manufacturing experts with track records on Safety, Quality, Supply Chain, Productivity, Maintenance, Engineering, and Lean leadership. We are supporting COO and OpEx leaders of various manufacturing industries to get a new competitive advantage through excellence in manufacturing, by leading Lean transformations of their organization. A Lean transformation, according to us, consists of setting up a learning organization, for all employees to progressively acquire the ability to contribute in the continuous improvement initiatives needed for better customer satisfaction. People based continuous improvement (Lean) was first practiced by Toyota Motor Corporation soon after World War 2. But over time many companies in various industries experienced amazing profitable growth thanks to the application of these Lean principles. Visual management, problem solving and wastes elimination are core principles of Lean. In addition, Standardized Work, First-Defect-Stop, Single-Piece-Flow and Level-Pull-Flow are the Lean basic solutions leading toward incremental bottom-up improvements altogether with a set of typical Lean tools, this is what Lean is about. Using a few Lean tools from time to time may delivers local benefits, but such shy approach is never massive enough to generate enthusiasm and do not create sustainable competitive advantages for the company future. Furthermore, a deep understanding of the principles and a systemic application of the tools allover the company ecosystem has always been amazingly transformational.
