Almost five decades ago, Martin Naughton and four colleagues established Glen Electric in Newry, Northern Ireland. Just four years later with the acquisition of Dimplex, a company eight times Glen’s size and a brand leader in electric heating; Glen Dimplex was born.
Since the Group’s foundation it has continued to grow organically and through
acquisitions of much-loved brands across the world.
Today, Glen Dimplex Group works across an international footprint, connecting more than 8,000 people working together in 20 countries across four key sectors of Heating and Ventilation, Flame, Precision Cooling and Consumer Appliances.

For over 75 years, Dimplex has been the trusted name for electric heating. Today, we remain the market leader in the creation and manufacture of energy efficient electric heating products and solutions. Our experience and expertise are matched by a deep rooted and continuous investment in new ideas, modern design, and ongoing innovation to deliver market defining heating and air treatment. We also work closely with industry groups and the government to consult on energy use in order to help shape the future of low-carbon heating and sustainable energy policy in the UK.
