The Public Diplomacy Honors Program at The Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya is a collaborative venture between the Abba Eban Institute for international diplomacy, headed by Ambassador Ron Prosor, and Act.IL, an innovative civil society organization. In an increasingly connected global community, Public Diplomacy is an indispensable element of international relations, policymaking, sustainable development as well as warfare and conflict management. As such, it is paramount that the future generation of leaders, both in government and civil society, posses the requisite skills, knowledge and experience, to effectively utilize Public Diplomacy to improve the image of their respective countries. On the academic front, students delve deep into the intellectual component of Public Diplomacy, including its historical evolution, and its role in today’s society by analyzing numerous case studies. On the practical front, various workshops provided by the Abba Eban Institute, as well as a year-long internship with Act.IL, provide a framework in which the students have the opportunity to apply these theories into real-world action. In order to witness Public Diplomacy in action, the program takes the students on numerous study tours, including to Israeli communities neighboring the Gaza Strip, Israel’s Foreign Ministry, and of course, a trip to the United States, along with Ambassador Prosor, to meet decision makers at the highest echelons of the US government. With the help of the Public Diplomacy Honors Program at the IDC Herzliya, students will be able to tap into their innate potential and lead the world into a better future Our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ThePublicDiplomacyProgram/ The Abba Eban Institute for International Diplomacy: https://www.idc.ac.il/en/research/aei/pages/main.aspx
