The Learning Center of North Texas (TLCNT) is a nonprofit organization providing comprehensive diagnostic educational evaluations for ages 4-18, college students, and adults; parent and educator resources; professional development for educators; and adult services. Our Mission: To provide practical, accessible, and affordable resources to increase the success of individuals with learning differences and disabilities. Our Vision: We believe each individual deserves a community that honors the competencies and potential of every learning style. Professional Development for Educators Program - TLCNT became a Schools Attuned® Professional Development Provider for All Kinds of Minds® an institute for the study of differences in learning, in 2001, and conducts multiple sessions each year for public, private, and parochial school educators in north and central Texas. Schools Attuned is a professional development program that educates K-12 educators in the concepts and tools needed to transform their teaching and achieve better results. Based on a neurodevelopmental framework for understanding how people learn, Schools Attuned helps teachers engender success in learning through empowering and providing hope and satisfaction for struggling learners. TLCNT has trained 3,169 educators, touching the lives of more than 337,000 children. A 2007 study conducted by the Fort Worth Independent School District demonstrated a correlation between Schools Attuned-trained teachers and improved TAKS reading and math scores. Educational Evaluation Program - The Pat and Don Williamson Evaluation Center's eight diagnosticians, speech-language pathologist, and consulting psychologist provide comprehensive diagnostic educational evaluations for children and adults, including ability and achievement assessments, screens for attention and learning difficulties, and personality and school perceptions.
