The Bourne Group Information

The Bourne Group, LLC is an award-winning architecture and climate resilience practice led by Stacy Bourne, FAIA, NOMA. We specialize in hurricane-resilient design and renovations for flood-prone and coastal buildings across the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Caribbean, and the Gulf Coast (licensed in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Louisiana, and Missouri). Our difference is lived, not theoretical: we’ve rebuilt after 12 hurricanes. That experience shapes how we assess risk, detail building envelopes, drainage, and foundations, and design for continuity when conditions are worst. Stacy brings 30+ years of hurricane-resistant architecture experience and 20+ years of national leadership at the American Institute of Architects (AIA), including diversity initiatives, advocacy, disaster assistance, resilience, and climate change. Our work is built on defined, repeatable strategies: Resilience Assessments: Prioritized actions for wind, water intrusion, flooding, and storm surge. Phased Roadmaps: Step-by-step plans aligned with scope, budget, capital planning, and operations. Resilient Renovations and Retrofits: Constructable upgrades to roofs, openings, building envelopes, materials, and critical spaces. Community Engagement Charrettes: Structured stakeholder alignment that speeds decisions and strengthens outcomes. Off-the-Grid Residences: Redundancy strategies for water, power, septic systems, and natural ventilation. https://www.thebournegroup.com
