Tastemaker is revolutionizing the interior design industry one room at a time! Founded in 2012, the San Francisco-based design start-up blends interior design with technology to offer high-quality design at up to 80% less than the cost of a traditional interior decorator. Tastemaker’s four founders decided it was time to do away with tradition and went on a mission to figure out how to offer quality design without the high prices and old-school practices of the industry. By taking on many of the logistical and time-consuming aspects of a traditional decorator’s job, Tastemaker allows its decorators to focus on what they love best – design! Tastemaker offers a robust online platform that allows clients to view decorator proposals, leave feedback for decorators, and eventually order an entire room of furnishings hassle free in about a month. Clients receive their design by mail in a signature Tastemaker design box containing everything needed to bring the room to life: floor plans, elevations, product sheets, swatches, and more. Tastemaker’s pricing is flat-rate (as opposed to hourly or cost-plus pricing models) which lets clients know exactly what they can expect to pay for the project before they even get started.
