Tobii Dynavox® is the market leader in assistive technology for communication. Our custom designed communication aids & corresponding support system enable people with disabilities such as cerebral palsy, ALS, autism, spinal cord injury & aphasia to communicate & live their lives to the fullest.
Our offering ranges from eye-controlled communication aids for speech generation to tools for the special education classroom. We empower people with disabilities to do what they once did, or never thought possible, such as expressing themselves in a voice of their own or developing literacy skills. We call this Power to be You, and it explains our belief that every individual has the right to live their life to the fullest, communicate, and live a more independent life. This makes a major impact on the people using our technology and those around them. It also benefits entire communities, healthcare systems & society at large.
With integrated solutions featuring hardware, software, clinically developed language systems, training, and dedicated support, Tobii Dynavox stands out as a truly global, full solution provider in the assistive technology for communication market. There is an enormous unmet need for such products. Globally, around 50 million individuals need communication aids to communicate and interact effectively, while only about 2 million are diagnosed with this need every year. Furthermore, a subset of only about 2%, or 40,000, of those diagnosed are actually served every year due to low awareness, poor implementation support & lack of funding infrastructure — even in some of the most well-developed countries.
We leverage a global distribution network and an extensive funding support system to enable as many as possible to benefit from our communication solutions. Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, Tobii Dynavox employs around 500 people and covers a global market with offices in the US, the UK, Germany, China, Norway with reselling partners in 60+ markets.
Makaton is a language programme that gives everyone a helping hand to talk.
We’ve been developing the Makaton language programme for nearly 40 years. And in that time, we’ve made a huge difference to thousands of lives, breaking down the isolation people feel when they experience difficulties and can’t speak.
We help children and adults feel more connected to the world around them and give them a voice.
AngelSense is assistive technology for people with autism, special needs, and dementia. It supports safety, skill building, and independence. Over 2,000 partner agencies use it, including Regional Centers, county and state government, school districts, self-direction programs, and law enforcement.
How it works:
Proactive, reliable alerts, using AI to overcome the limits of standard GPS. Alerts arrive without anyone opening an app: a safe zone left, an unexpected place, a late arrival, an unusual route. The wearable has an auto-pickup speakerphone and SOS button, so a caregiver can talk without the person answering.
Beyond safety:
The voice features also support skill building. Two-way support is used to fade 1:1 staffing, coach job tasks, and guide errands. One-way audio lets a clinician collect baseline data without an observer present.
For agency programs:
The families on your caseload need 1:1 hours that do not exist. Remote support lets staff guide someone through a task from anywhere, so independence grows without adding shifts and community access gets easier to justify against LRE goals. Daily timelines give coordinators something concrete at plan renewal. 95% of users adopt wearing the device within three weeks.
For law enforcement and search and rescue:
A caregiver can share a live location link straight to dispatch or an officer in the field. Nothing to install on your side, and your team drives to a point instead of a radius. Runner Mode updates every 10 seconds during an elopement, and a remote alarm helps locate someone hiding or in a crowd. 96% of wandering incidents are resolved within minutes by users themselves, before they become a full search.
For school districts:
Elopement is the incident that matters. Parents and staff share one view. Safe ride monitoring covers the bus, including a student who got off at the wrong stop or never went inside.
