Tadpole started with a simple concept - to celebrate and support all the families in Boston's South End, Back Bay and beyond. In 2006 Tadpole was launched by Storey Hieronymus Hauck, a resident of the South End for more than 15 years. Storey started a successful clothing store in 2003 called Turtle, and a few years into that venture recognized the changing face of the South End. Many of her customers were getting pregnant and starting families, trying to make a go of it in the city instead of immediately fleeing to the suburbs. There was nothing like Tadpole in the city when the store first launched, so she thought she could bring her entrepreneurial spirit, creative eye and flair for good design to the world of children's products.
