Chartwell School meets the needs of students with dyslexia and a wide range of language-related learning differences. Immersed in our college preparatory environment, these bright students who often find that learning to read well is extremely difficult. As a result, many have struggled in traditional academic settings. Chartwell is the only school of this type serving California’s Central Coast region. Accredited at the highest level by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), Chartwell offers a full mainstream curriculum that meets or exceeds California state standards. All classes use well-structured, diagnostic, multi-sensory approaches and implement research-based best practices. Chartwell places special emphasis on accessing higher order cognition, creativity and problem solving skills through language development, hands-on science, the arts, the social and emotional foundations of learning, and environmental education. Our high-school features project-based, experiential learning with small classes and collaborative teaching teams.

We are an independent college preparatory, boarding and day school dedicated to academic excellence and personal achievement for grades 6 - 12 & Postgraduate (PG) in the suburb of Barrington, Rhode Island. With our concentration of arts, academics, athletics, and activities in a highly supportive environment, students feel comfortable trying new things and discovering who they are. The Prentice School: Empowering Students with Learning Differences The Prentice School is a nonprofit, non-public school serving students in grades 1-8 with learning differences such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, Auditory Processing Disorder, and anxiety. Through our specialized approach and targeted teaching methods, we create an environment where students not only excel academically but also embrace their unique strengths, building confidence, belonging, and personal growth. We are committed to meeting the diverse educational needs of our students with an array of unique features, including: Tailored Instruction: Research-based methods adapted to each student’s needs. Three Daily English Classes for Elementary Students: Comprehensive instruction in Structured Literacy, Reading Comprehension, and Writing, ensuring a robust foundation in literacy. Small Class Sizes: Personalized attention in an inclusive setting. Expert Staff: Fully credentialed teachers with advanced training in multi-sensory instruction and Structured Literacy, including Orton-Gillingham methods. On-Campus Specialists: Licensed Speech and Language Pathologists and an Occupational Therapist to support communication and motor skills.
