When we started in 1998, we had one mission: to bring the humble cake back to its glory days in world that was dominated by fancy French pastries. So we started a cake shop selling only one cake — a simple dark chocolate cake between layers of dark chocolate fudge. Real cake one could bite into, rich in taste yet moist and light; not just mouthfuls of mousse or cream. The perfect every day chocolate cake! Our Original All Chocolate Cake, the cake that started it all, is something you’ll find yourself craving for regularly and never tire of! We’ve since grown from a one cake shop into a group of boutiques, cafes and restaurants bearing our love for dark chocolate, both in Singapore and overseas. Built on the streets of Katong, our first store was a fresh pristine white with a simple wood counter, standing out from all the neighbourhood businesses and traditional shops. We have always prided ourselves on being contrarian — it is, after all, what brought us from one cake shop in Katong into a collection of gifting stores, cafes and restaurants bearing our love for dark chocolate both in Singapore and overseas. Today, we are Singapore’s Favourite Chocolate, a premium gifting brand specialising in dark chocolate, with beautiful packaging and the best and widest range of artisanal chocolate cakes, including of course the best selling Original All Chocolate Cake.

Cake Spade was conceptualized and established in the year 2013 under our founder Zenns vision to operate as a daily cake store serving cakes light enough to be enjoyed as a daily treat, not just the occasional indulgence. Quite rustic and old-fashioned at heart, at Cake Spade, we strongly believe in baking from scratch and using the best ingredients. This is a kitchen of heavenly aromas, chocolate-smudged pages of traditional recipes, and lots of love going into each and every slice of cake. Behind our blush pink shop house faade lies a chic dining area perfect for every celebration. Come visit us and let us set your hearts fluttering with our array of cakes, coffee and desserts. Our founder, Zenn, fell in love with baking two decades ago after her mom taught her how to bake her first cake. Her hobby soon became a small home-baking business where she sold her cakes to family and friends. Drawing inspiration from the bustling baking scene in America and being cognizant of Singapores taste for desserts, she ventured into the relatively unknown American cake varieties which she thinks fit the locals palate. Through the years, her cakes became well known for their flavors and unique textures. Thanks to the word of mouth, business gradually grew to the point that she saw the need for a bigger oven and storefront. Cake Spade was conceptualized and established in the year 2013 under Zenns vision to operate as a daily cake store serving cakes light enough to be enjoyed as a daily treat, not just the occasional indulgence. Her first store operated from the premises of Orchid Hotel in the bustling neighbourhood of Tanjong Pagar. Having established a strong following for her tofu cheesecakes over the years and with growing demands for a larger space, she moved to her current flagship outlet at 83 Tanjong Pagar Road, all dressed up in a pretty blush pink outfit.
