SCOPI (the Sustainable Coffee Platform of Indonesia) is a non-profit association initiated by multi-stakeholders coffee in Indonesia in March 2015. The lack of clear collective development vision in the coffee sector triggered the establishment of a collaborative partnership at a country level. The objective of SCOPI is to promote and enhance public private partnerships in coffee to achieve greater economic opportunities for farmers, food securities and environmental sustainability. It is designed to be a platform that enable innovation for the sustainable development of Indonesia’s coffee value chain. Although a sustainability initiative working on sustainable agri-commodities already existed, SCOPI became the first organisation to successfully and specifically focus on sustainability in Indonesian coffee production, and to include all stakeholders in the coffee chain. It engages all Indonesian coffee stakeholders around collective learning and action. The objectives of SCOPI are mostly focused on sustainability issues in a broad sense: improving farmer livelihoods, creating greater economic opportunities for farmers, food security, and environmental sustainability.
