Summit Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was established in 1988 with the objective of providing comprehensive quality oral and maxillofacial surgical care to the residents of the metropolitan Detroit area. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a specialty of dentistry that deals with surgery of the oral cavity and facial structures. All of our surgeons are graduates of an accredited school of dentistry and require the completion of up to six additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, Dr. Hackenberger, Dr. Kraemer, Dr. Sclafani, Dr. Lehal, Dr. LeRose, Dr. DeMerle, and Dr. Essian manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions. They practice the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery, removal of wisdom teeth to corrective jaw surgery which includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention. Our office can diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.
