Sugarpill Cosmetics is a cruelty-free line of vibrant, richly pigmented cosmetics for animal lovers and color fiends. The dream began in 2003, while I was running my technicolor punk fashion line, Shrinkle. While showcasing my clothing online, I often received inquiries about the flamboyant theater and stage makeup I wore, which I adopted from performers in the underground drag queen clubs I frequented. I realized there was a huge demand for bright, unique makeup in the club scene, so I decided to make it more accessible by offering it alongside my clothing. The makeup was an instant hit, and I found myself making almost daily trips to the theater store to restock. But over time I begin to wish for control over the makeup's quality, brand image, and the products and colors offered. In 2005 I began to develop a new line of luxury eyeshadows in my own formula, unique colors and dream packaging. Each color was individually developed to achieve the perfect balance of intense color, incredible staying power and wearability. Sugarpill launched its eagerly anticipated collection on Valentines Day 2010. Overwhelmingly positive buzz from the online makeup community was immediate. A large culture of leading Youtube beauty gurus broadcast exceptional reviews of the brand, and top beauty blogger Temptalia named Sugarpill the "#1 Indie Brand for 2010. Within months of its launch, Sugarpill had become a cult favorite of the indie makeup world. Sugarpill was chosen as the official makeup brand for Sanrio's Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary. We've toured with Japanese Harajuku fashion brands 6%DOKIDOKI and Spank! Clothing and have been featured in Italian Vogue, Nylon Singapore, InStyle, xoJane, Huffington Post, OK!
