STORYSCOPE seeks to unlock the freshest energy of creative Africa to develop original stories for local and global content markets. Based in Johannesburg, their award-winning creative team is comfortable working across genres, cultures, and time zones, drawn to narratives exploring personal and political revolutions. Between Storyscope’s founding partners they have produced and distributed hundreds of hours of fiction and non-fiction content on broadcast, theatrical and SVOD platforms, including Al Jazeera, Amazon, Netflix, ARTE, VPRO, MTV, Sundance Channel, BBC, CBC, PBS, ZDF, NHK, CGTN and SABC. In March 2025, Storyscope launched FREE AT LAST: Unresolved Stories of Apartheid, a co-production with Arte/ZDF, VPRO, and SABC, premiered at the Human Rights Film Festival on Constitutional Hill, and in August 2025 won the the award for Outstanding Documentary Series at the National Arts & Culture Awards.
