Storrier Stearns Japanese Garden Information

The Storrier Stearns Japanese Garden is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a treasured California landmark. The two-acre garden is often referred to as a secret garden, hidden in the heart of Pasadena. As you walk the path through the Japanese gate and tall, shady trees, and hear the sounds of waterfalls and nature, you begin to experience the quiet beauty and tranquillity that has characterized Japanese gardens for centuries. A non-profit was created for the maintenance and operation of the garden and the City of Pasadena recently granted a permit to operate as a Cultural Institution. Our mission is to restore and preserve our historically and culturally significant garden, and make it widely available to the community for education, health and wellness, contemplation, inspiration and enjoyment. In support of its operation, this extraordinary garden is also available on a limited basis as a venue for creating an unforgettable event. The privacy and intimacy of having the entire garden to enjoy will be the beginning of wonderful memories for weddings and celebrations of all kinds.
