Stichting Wees Kind is in 2003 opgericht door bevriende ondernemers die zich betrokken voelen bij Peruaanse kinderen die minder kansen hebben gekregen dan zij. Vanuit hun werkervaring zetten zij zich professioneel maar belangeloos in, met als doel deze kinderen weer kínd te laten zijn. Stichting Wees Kind werkt nauw samen met de lokale bevolking. Jaarlijks werken er circa 20 Nederlandse vrijwilligers in Peru.
