Stage A Change Information

Stage A Change Mission: In partnership and collaboration with community, industry and artists, Stage A Change works to increase, amplify and sustain professional opportunities for artists of colour in Australia. Our Values are: Continuous learning Human as champions Boldly Brave Deeply Curious Authentic in Relationships Founded in 2017, Stage A Change operates on its 3-Spoke Plan to initiate change; Artist Training, Community Engagement, and Industry Standards. We operate as a social enterprise. Our artists' training programs and community engagement activities are funded by our supporters and our industry training programs. Working with arts, not-for-profit/for purpose, and corporate companies globally, Stage A Change offers workshops, trainings, facilitates ongoing consultation in anti-racism and DEI (or the ABIDE principles as we call them), supports strategic planning, and amplifies community engagement. In 2022, Stage A Change introduced the Changemakers, a cohort of arts organizations who are aligned with Stage A Change’s ABIDE principles, Access, Belonging, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity, and are actively seeking to implement them into their organisation's structure. ChangeMakers acknowledge their responsibility, specifically to communities who have been historically excluded from their practice, to listen, to be accountable, and to lead the way towards a more accessible, equitable and inclusive sector.
