Support for Parents Overcoming Challenges (SPOC), was established in 1988 in Spokane, Washington out of the project of an EWU Master's in Social Work student practicum. SPOC became an independent non-profit eligible for 501 (c) 3 status in 1992 and grew into a vibrant and multi-service organization offering social services and childcare for some of Spokane's most vulnerable families. In April 2007, Easter Seals Washington and SPOC of Spokane merged after both Board of Directors approved the merger following months of study and discussion.
