We share evidence-based learning strategies that empower you to improve pre K-12 education.
Edutopia is an initiative of the George Lucas Educational Foundation, an operating foundation dedicated to finding effective and creative ways for pre K–12 students to acquire and apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to thrive in their studies, careers, and adult lives.
As one of the leading sources for change-makers in education, Edutopia inspires people to improve the learning process, enabling them to find, share, and adapt what works in education. Think:Kids teaches a revolutionary, evidence-based approach called Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) for helping children with behavioral challenges. Through training, support and clinical services, we promote the understanding that challenging kids lack the skill, not the will, to behave well – specifically skills related to problem solving, flexibility and frustration tolerance. Unlike traditional models of discipline, the CPS approach avoids the use of power, control and motivational procedures and instead focuses on building helping relationships and teaching at-risk kids the skills they need to succeed.
Mindful Schools empowers educators to spark systemic change from the inside out by cultivating awareness, resilience, and compassionate action. Our vision is for all children to learn in “mindful schools” that nurture a new generation of leaders to create a more equitable and thriving world.
Mindful Schools is a non-profit organization founded in 2007. We are proud to be a partner of choice for over 500 schools across the country. We’ve trained over 70,000 educators through professional development training, community resources and events, and most recently, national schoolwide mindfulness programs.
Our programs are all designed by educators, for educators, with educators with deep experience bringing mindfulness to schools with an equity-centered, trauma-sensitive approach.
With an expanding network of educators working to implement mindfulness, and an unwavering commitment to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work, we are uniquely poised to cultivate joyful and just learning communities, no matter what the future holds.
