Sova Pharmaceuticals Inc. is a privately-held biopharmaceutical company founded in 2010. The company is engaged in the discovery and development of innovative therapeutics for the treatment of pain and inflammation. These areas represent large areas of unmet medical need as few new molecular targets are being pursued as candidates for the treatment of both pain and inflammation, and even fewer new drugs active against such targets have been commercialized that will benefit patients. There is increasing recognition that increased local concentrations of the gasotransmitter, hydrogen sulfide, are contributory to certain disease states characterized by pain and inflammation.
