Southern California Builders Association Information

Southern California Builders Association is one of the oldest and most respected construction trade associations in California. A non-profit corporation founded in 1923, SCBA is a merger of the Southland Builders Exchange and the Orange County Builders Association. The merger took place in October, 1983. SCBA dedicates itself to the improvement of the entire construction industry, and to the protection of its members and the general public. It is a "Management Group" composed of and serving ALL classifications of the California construction industry. General contractors, sub-contractors, architects, engineers, manufacturers, suppliers, and other businesses and individuals who are identified with, or serve the construction industry, are welcome as members. The SCBA provides a common meeting ground for everyone in the construction industry. It gathers and disseminates pertinent information concerning the industry, and offers its members a variety of general and specific services. Regular, Associate and Ancillary members may serve on committees if they so desire. Regular and Associate members may at some point be asked to serve on the Board of Directors. The Board governs the association, and directs the professional Executive Director, who in turn performs and directs staff members, in the day-to-day operation of the association. In addition to the other services, the association has a Broker of Record that can help you obtain the best health benefits for your company. The association belongs to the State Fund workers' compensation insurance program. Members that meet the State Fund criteria, have the opportunity to become part of the group. The SCBA is a member of the Golden State Builders Exchanges (GSBE), the largest construction industry organization in California. The GSBE unites local Builders Exchanges located throughout California with State Compensation Insurance Fund in an alliance designed to improve workplace safety and lower insurance premiums for over 20,000 GSBE firms. The Southern California Builders Association desires members dedicated to the preservation of the integrity of the construction industry.
