Founded in 1902, Stowmarket Golf Club has been on its present site in Finborough Park since 1962. It is a pretty parkland course set in the quiet and peaceful Suffolk countryside with much wildlife and lovely views. The renowned high-quality greens and varied holes suit both low and high handcappers looking for a challenging yet rewarding game on a well maintained layout with excellent practices facilities and grass driving area. The club is also renowned for the friendly welcome it gives to members and visitors. The Course Now measuring some 6,107 yds from the whites, the par 69 course initially evolved through normal play but during the mid 60’s designs were invited from Hawtree and Charles Grayston. Grayston was chosen but Hawtree were involved in 1968 in the design of six new greens. Stowmarket’s parkland course requires accuracy and good ball positioning; appealing to long hitters and strategists alike whilst the greens give any golfer a master test of their putting skills.
