Vensafe’s history dates back to 1992 when A/S Mekatronikk was founded by a group of industrialists around the Oslo Fjord area, led by Tore Planke. Identifying and acknowledging that shoplifting, theft and shrinkage were huge problems to the retail industry, the idea was to develop a safe system for the automated sale of high-cost, small-sized items in retail stores. Vensafe AS was established in 1998. Vensafe is headquartered in Moss, south of Oslo in Norway. The facilities host R&D, administration, marketing & sales, central warehouse and other key functions. Sales/Service offices have been established in Sweden, Germany and Belgium.
