ShinyPrettyThings grew from a desire to make vintage fine jewellery more fun, vibrant, accessible and informed. Our aim: to source and inform on the shiniest, prettiest jewels, gems and trinkets in the world, providing an expert eye on the pieces we love and desire. ShinyPrettyThings grew from an encounter between an Art Deco Cartier ring and a friend who knew little about jewellery. As we explained how the piece had come to life - how the precious stones had travelled halfway around the world to be set in rare metal by a jeweller trusted by kings, we recognised that a greater appreciation and understanding of the stones, materials, marks and history of jewels really makes the difference between just liking jewellery and truly loving it. The ShinyPrettyThings blog was launched on Valentine’s Day 2016 and serves as a platform to engage and inform on the subjects closest to our heart. With a team of jewellery experts and lecturing gemmologists providing content, you may be assured that the information we deliver is as accurate and up to date as possible. ShinyPrettyThings has launched their e-commerce platform at the beginning of 2017, providing an environment for anyone wishing to have access to carefully selected, quality pieces of jewellery with which to build their collections.
