Amorette and Raheem Miller are co-founders of ShiftDiff LLC, a new job search engine focused on Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes Region of New York helping job-seekers maximize their potential and search career opportunities across more than a dozen counties. With a vested interested in building community by listing employment opportunities in Rochester, the Millers strive to make the job search process simple and seamless. Amorette is a well-known labor advocate and former labor relations manager who genuinely cares about the experiences people have at work. Having owned a small clothing company in her 20s, her career has come full circle--and she strives to provide a strong support network for job-seekers of every level, from youth to seasoned professional. “We understand that employees help an organization succeed and grow, and we’re there from the beginning to help bridge this relationship.” Raheem, a charter school administrator and beloved coach, has worked with city youth as a mentor and counselor. He cares about the future of Rochester’s young men and women. “If we do not make a job search easy, then our graduates will lose out on opportunities.” In addition to the ability for job seekers to create a free profile, search and apply for jobs, ShiftDiff’s blog, The Lunch Break, offers trade tips and expert advice to prepare job seekers for the application and interview process, as well as success in future careers. The name, ShiftDiff, is a nod to effort above and beyond, and refers to the extra pay received by employees for working a late night or evening shift, typically added to the base hourly rate before the calculation of an overtime rate.
