shift started out life as Community Sports Trust, a Community Interest Company which was born back in 2008. The vision was a world where everyone is part of a vibrant, physically active community. That vision remains the same today. But times have changed quite a bit since then and now our work is about so much more than just sport. So we thought it was time to give ourselves a facelift – and transform ourselves into shift. Our mission is to establish meaningful relationships within communities to build trust and create a magical spark which helps to transform the lives of the people around us. This requires thinking outside the box to push beyond our previous boundaries and find out what connects people, inspires them to move and keeps people exercising. Our initiatives include: Jog Derbyshire - a network of fun, social and friendly jogging groups spanning the length and breadth of Derbyshire. For more information visit www.jogderbyshire.co.uk Active 4 Life - our top-notch team of community builders are at the heart of Active 4 Life working in Fairfield in the High Peak, New Bolsover in North East Derbyshire and Petersham in Erewash. They get to know local people, take time to sit and listen to what they want in their communities and build relationships, create networks and develop a culture of physical activity. Generation Games - funded by Derbyshire County Council, Generation Games is bringing positivity and togetherness to the older people of Eckington and Shirland in North East Derbyshire. By taking the time to listen to what residents enjoy and want we’re creating opportunities for them to be more physically active at the right level but also bringing them together for fun and friendship. Mindshift - a programme of courses which will completely transform the way you work and think. The courses are designed to be engaging, practical and quite a lot of fun. With a range of cutting-edge thinking, skills, tools and behaviours, they’ll enable you to fulfill your potential and be your best self at work and beyond. Fit 4 Life Chesterfield - We’ve joined forces with Derbyshire County Council’s workplaces team to support social care staff as well as people working at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. They’ll have access to high quality one-to-one support to enable them to find local physical activity sessions which work for them – breaking down barriers such as shift work in the process.
