Korean Broadcasting System is Korea’s leading public services broadcaster and the most influential media organization in the country. KBS regards it a core duty to reflect the diverse voices of Korea through the distinctiveness of its programs. KBS is run by both licence fee and income from the advertisements to operate its three TV, seven radio and four DMB channels.
KBS began the country’s first radio broadcasting service back in 1927 and commenced Korea’s first television broadcasting in 1961. KBS has also been broadcasting HD programs since 2001 and by 2012 all of its programs will be produced and broadcast in HD. The world’s first terrestrial DMB service was launched by KBS on 1 December 2005 and offers television, audio and data services.
Carrying out various international projects, KBS is also in tune with the world. For the audiences in Asia and other parts of the world, KBS has gained international recognition for the quality and range of its programs. KBS World TV, the international satellite channel which was launched in 2003, provides high quality content of KBS. The programs are transmitted to Europe, Middle East, North Africa, America and to most of Asian regions. KBS World Radio, with 56 years of history, offers 11 different language services to listeners worldwide.
The headquarters of KBS is located at Yeouido in Seoul. There are 18 regional stations and 11 overseas bureaus as well as eight subsidiary companies such as KBS Media which manages the local and global marketing of KBS content.

The Korea Herald is a daily English-language newspaper founded in 1953 and published in Seoul, South Korea. The editorial staff is composed of Korean and international writers and editors, with additional news coverage drawn from international news agencies such as the Associated Press.
The Korea Herald is operated by Herald Media. Herald Media also publishes The Herald Business, a Korean-language business daily, The Junior Herald, an English weekly for teens, The Campus Herald, a Korean-language weekly for university students. Herald Media is also active in the country's booming English as a foreign language sector, operating a chain of hagwons as well as an English village.

Daum Communications was established in 1995 and is a South Korean internet company that operated the internet portal Daum.net until 2014. It developed various internet services that transform the world into a better place through the wise use of media and communication. Daum.net is a web portal in South Korea and offers many Internet services to web users, including a popular free web-based e-mail, messaging service, forums, shopping and news.
On August 2, 2004 Daum announced the purchase of Lycos for $95.4 million. In 2006, they started a blogging service Tistory.com and it became one of top 5 sites in Korea. They also made "tvPot", video sharing service and "skyview" aerial photography on the map service. In 2014, it merged with Kakao, the 1st mobile messenger in Korea and changed to "Daum Kakao".
