Second Chance Thoroughbreds Information

Second Chance Thoroughbreds is a nonprofit organization that specializes in rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming retired thoroughbred racehorses. Many of our horses are acquired through local racing facilities, as well as owner surrenders and high risk sale situations. Second Chance Thoroughbreds is an accredited organization, recognized annually by the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance and the Thoroughbred Charities of America. In addition, SCT participates in national OTTB events such as Retired Racehorse Project's Thoroughbred Makeover, as well as regularly hosting benefits such as the Thoroughbred Jubilee Benefit Show and OcTToBerfest benefit shows. Horses in the care of the organization are thoroughly assessed before beginning a retraining regimen and during, taking great care to make each step of the process successful and positive, with the end goal being a happy adoption for each horse.
