Second Act Studio Information

Second Act Studio is a professional music and video studio for composition, recording, and production located just 30 minutes north of New York City in Irvington, New York. Second Act provides a welcome alternative to Manhattan-based studios. It is a site for inspiration, tranquility, fresh air, state-of-the art acoustic design, and top-of-the-line equipment. Music composed, arranged, performed, and mixed at Second Act has been featured in many films and on numerous CDs. In addition, award-winning films have had their sound edited and mixed at Second Act. It was designed by Robert Reilly and John Storyk. Beginning with Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland studio, Mr. Storyk has designed over 900 world-class audio recording studios, radio stations, and video facilities, as well as small clubs and theaters. The studio consists of three main rooms - a control room, a recording room (ISO booth), and a screening room -- with a spectacular view of the pristine grounds and the Hudson River. All rooms are interconnected, and both the control room and the screening room are configured for 5.1 surround. The studio is furnished with top-of-the-line hardware and software, including a Pro Tools HD system. For larger ensembles, the house's first floor can be converted into a second three room studio. Second Act has been featured in EQ magazine, as well as Pro Sound News. The studio has played host to film directors, gospel and opera singers, rock and roll bands, pop and jazz musicians, string quartets, and numerous others.
