Hi, we are Seads and we make espadrilles. Seads espadrilles are a starting point for a sustainable ocean. Our concept is driven by our mission: to give the ocean back to its rightful owner, Mother Nature. Every year around 9 million tons of plastic waste enter our oceans. That’s 1 truckload per minute. Unfortunately plastic doesn’t decompose in a minute. Bags? 10 - 20 years. Straws? 200 years. And to top it off, bottles 450 years. In total 75% of the pollution in our ocean is made of plastic, affecting both animals and nature alike. It’s clear this situation demands action. So we took matters into our own hands by rethinking waste and looking at ocean plastic as a seed. Trash that can be turned into a wonderful, wearable treasure. Espadrilles. Comfortable, beachy, stylish and sustainable. Made to transform the ocean step by step, back to the wonder it once was. Of course, we can’t do this alone. Luckily, there’s a sea full of great ocean cleaning projects out there. You can support them too, by simply buying our espadrilles. Because a part of every pair we sell is donated to fund a selection of these projects. Consider it your seed money, well invested in the future of our planet. And don’t worry, once your espadrilles are worn out just return the pair to us and we’ll upcycle them again, so in turn they become the seeds for completely new products.
