SayCel Information

We focus on education, environmental monitoring, and open source solutions. SayCel works nationally and internationally, and have partnered with: Black Rock Forest (Cornwall, NY) for installation of Scientific environmental monitoring network; Rhizomatica (Oaxaca, Mexico) in Open Source Community Cellular Networks; Ole.net (Kenya) in Lite.List and community network deployment; and Kalinago Indigenous Community Network (Dominica). SayCel has won awards from the National Science Foundation, UNICEF Innovation, NYU Berkeley Innovation Labs, Mozilla Foundation, and the Telecom Infa Project. SayCel flagship operation in Bluefields, Nicaragua is the first local Fiber to the Home Network in the region. Previously SayCel worked with community networking initiatives in Little Corn Island, and Pearl Lagoon. SayCel continues to strive for internet connectivity, and alternative resilient communications solutions for the indigenous and afrodescendente communities, with a final goal of providing connectivity to entire North and South Atlantic Region of Nicaragua.
