'The Samaja', is owned and managed by 'Servants of the People Society' (Lok Sevak Mandal), New Delhi, a trust founded by all time legend Punjab Keshri Lala Lajpat Rai. The association of many a luminaries in course of time has enriched 'The Samaja'. The profound and enormous contribution ofPunjab Keshri Lala Lajpat Rai, UtkalamaniPandit Gopabandhu Das the former Prime Minister of India Sri Lal Bahadur Sahstri, former Vice-President of India Sri Krishna Kant, former Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Biswanath Dash, Padma Bhusan Dr. Radhanath Rath has left an indelible imprint in the common psyche of every Oriya as the 'News paper of the populace'. At present, many great personalities of national repute including the former Prime Minister of India, Sri I.K.Gujural, former Justice of Supreme Court, Dr. Justice Arijit Pasayat are associated with the Society(Loksevak Mnadal), freedom fighter and former M.P. Sri Manubhai Patel. Today, Sri Onkar Chand, President SoPS leads a team of dedicated members with a focus on pursuing the cause of the Society. Apart from disseminating news, 'The Samaja' is committed for its social milieus and value system. The 'Relief Committee' has been the social face of the 'The Samaja' over the years. The objective has always been the welfare of the people of Odisha be it their health, education or in their time of distress during natural calamities 'The Samaja' reaches every door step through its relief work. The proposed Medical College project has been taken up by The Samaja known as Gopabandhu Institute of Medical Science and Research (GIMSAR) at Madhapur in Athgarh, Cuttack. Presently, a 105 bedded hospital is running at Madhapur. n addition to above a nursing college at GIMSAR got INC approval and fully operational now. A DAV School is also operating over the land contributed by The Samaja at Gandarpur in Cuttack, Odisha.
