Salt Publishing Information

Salt is an independent literary publisher based in Cromer, Norfolk – founded in 1999 and built on a simple conviction: that distinctive stories and poems deserve to be published with care. Over more than two decades we've brought out upwards of 800 titles across literary and genre fiction, poetry, short stories, children's fiction and non-fiction – work that has been shortlisted for, and won, major literary prizes. We work with authors for the long term, giving each book the editorial attention, design and publicity a small press can offer and a large one often can't. Salt is led by three directors – Christopher Hamilton-Emery, Jennifer Hamilton-Emery and Kirsty Hamilton-Emery – and distributed nationally through Macmillan Distribution (MDL) and Publishers Group UK, with international and digital reach via Bill Bailey Publishers' Representatives, Faber Factory and Bookwire.
