Salmon Press is headquartered in Meredith, New Hampshire and publishes 10 community newspapers and one monthly magazine, with combined readership in excess of 200,000 weekly. In addition, Salmon Press publishes tourist guides, specialty niche publications for residents, as well as numerous online products. The company, created in 1999, employs 75 people statewide and purchases written materials and delivery services from 110 others. Independent newspaper offices are maintained in Meredith, Wolfeboro, North Conway, Littleton, and Lancaster, New Hampshire. Three titles, the Littleton Courier, Coos County Democrat (Lancaster) and Berlin Reporter are published each Wednesday. The Granite State News (Wolfeboro), Carroll County Independent (Ossipee), Meredith News, Record Enterprise (Plymouth), Winnisquam Echo (Tilton), Gilford Steamer, and Baysider (Alton), are published on Thursdays. The MountainEar Magazine is published monthly. In addition to direct mail, Salmon Press newspapers are available at more than 650 retail outlets each week. Three of the newspapers are free via direct mail. The Winnisquam Echo (8,000 in Tilton, Belmont, Northfield and Sanbornton), Gilford Steamer (5,100) and Baysider (5,400 in Alton, Barnstead and New Durham) are mailed to every requesting home. The monthly MountainEar Magazine is available free, at hundreds of locations throughout New Hampshire and Maine.
