The founding members formed in 1992 as the Solar Division within Samsung Electronics and the company was eventually spun-out in 2001 as an independent company. S-Energy is now one of the most experienced tier-1 company and the most financially bankable PV manufacturing companies in the industry with more than 400 employees worldwide. In 2007, S-Energy became the first publicly-traded renewable energy company in Korea pursuant to its IPO on the Korean stock exchange (KOSDAQ).
