In the late fall of 2016, Ruul’s story began in Istanbul, founded by two siblings Esen and Mert Bulut. The company emerged from a straightforward but pressing problem. Mert, an independent, had grown frustrated with frequent payment issues. This frustration led to an idea, prompting him to bring his sister Esen, a finance director at a leadingholding company, on board. By the end of 2017, Ruul was ready to tackle a critical issue: helping independents work with business clients and get paid promptly by acting as a reseller. Coined as "Agent of Record for Independents" by its founders, Ruul’s innovative approach redefined how independents work with businesses globally. Operating in 190 countries and supporting 140 currencies, Ruul provides an Agent of Record solution for contractors and businesses, making it simple for them to work together. By 2026, Ruul has become a trusted ally for over 200k independents. Guided by its vision of accelerating independence, Ruul continues to shape a fairer and more accessible independent economy for those carving their own path.
