RUBY MOUNTAIN RESOURCE CENTER Information

Ruby Mountain Resource Center (RMRC) is a nonprofit organization that has proudly served Elko County since 1969. Our mission is to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through job training and meaningful opportunities that foster purpose, independence, and inclusion. For more than five decades, RMRC has worked to ensure that individuals of all abilities have access to opportunities that promote personal growth, community involvement, and greater self-sufficiency. We believe every person deserves the chance to develop their skills, contribute to their community, and reach their fullest potential. Through our Day Habilitation and Pre-Vocational programs, participants build essential life, social, and workplace skills in supportive, real-world environments. Services focus on employment readiness, communication, self-advocacy, community integration, and daily living skills that help individuals achieve greater independence and confidence. RMRC also operates a community thrift store that serves a dual purpose: providing vocational training opportunities for participants while generating revenue that directly supports our nonprofit mission. Every donation, purchase, and partnership helps create opportunities for the individuals we serve. In addition to our core services, RMRC offers innovative programs such as our Microenterprise Program, where participants create and sell handcrafted products, and our Garden Club, which provides hands-on learning experiences while promoting responsibility, teamwork, and community engagement. As a locally governed nonprofit organization, RMRC is deeply committed to strengthening our community through collaboration with businesses, volunteers, donors, and community partners. Together, we are building a more inclusive Elko County where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can thrive.
