RTL began broadcasting in Croatia as a commercial television station in 2004, introducing a fresh and different approach to television and shaping the local media landscape. Over the years, it expanded its family of channels – in 2011, RTL2 was launched; three years later, the specialized channel for children, youth, and families, RTL Kockica; and in 2015, the portfolio grew with the specialized IPTV channels RTL Crime, RTL Passion, and RTL Living, as well as RTL Croatia World. Since 2022, RTL Hrvatska has been owned by the CME Media Enterprises B.V. group. A year later, it strengthened its position in the digital environment by launching the streaming platform Voyo. In addition to television production, RTL Hrvatska, as the largest media group, owns several web portals: net.hr, RTL.hr, and Žena.hr. Through its socially responsible activities, primarily via the “RTL Helps Children” association, it has so far supported more than 1.1 million children who are direct beneficiaries across Croatia. In 2024, RTL marked two decades of broadcasting, remaining committed to trustworthy journalism, strong domestic production, and creating content that connects and inspires viewers.
