Rough Runner Information

Rough Runner is a new breed of sporting event that has been created to cater to one of the fastest-growing sports markets in the world in a fresh, unique way. However, while popular among hard core crowds, the barrier to entry is too high to have a hope of mass adoption in the wider running community. The events are brutal and unnecessarily painful, with severe injuries regularly reported, and several deaths. Enter Rough Runner, with a much-needed new approach. We have introduced the world of TV game shows to OCRs, creating an event that remains physically challenging but with the appeal of shows like Gladiators, Takeshi’s Castle, Wipeout and more. Inspired by these shows, our obstacles are fun but not painful, tough but not brutal. To be enjoyed, not endured. In doing this, we are bringing the sport to a wider audience by lowering the barriers to entry. Everyone can enter our events, rather than the select few who currently ‘qualify’ for existing OCRs.
