The Business Lounge opened in 2012, in Roanoke, VA, as a shared office space for start-ups, entrepreneurs, work-remote employees, attorney depositions and the occasional client meeting. After two years, the Business Lounge needed to expand due to high demand. The owner, Samantha Steidle, partnered with a commercial developer in Roanoke and moved the Business Lounge concept, and all all of its members, in to a 10,000 sq ft space in the heart of Grandin Village. Due to the new partnership with various community leaders and supporters, the Business Lounge was rebranded to be called the Grandin CoLab.
