We support young women from refugee and refugee-like backgrounds to learn, grow, and thrive in Australia. At River Nile School (RNS), we combine specialist English as an Additional Language programs with a hands-on, applied learning pedagogy, underpinned by culturally safe and trauma-informed practice. Our mentoring approach ensures each student receives tailored guidance, builds confidence, and develops the skills to navigate barriers and pursue their chosen pathways. Every student is supported to create a personalised career plan and access the resources needed to achieve it. RNS grew from the River Nile Learning Centre, established in 2006 to support young women from refugee backgrounds, and became an independent senior secondary school in 2016. All programs are free, ensuring access for those facing the greatest barriers to education. RNS is an ACNC-registered charitable organisation, recognised by the ATO for tax concessions and as a Deductible Gift Recipient.
